Catcher in the Rye
The title Catcher in the Rye was referenced in the novel when Holden finally figured out what he wants to be in life. It is also reference when Holden sees the family and the little boy in the park. The little boy was singing a poem that said "If a body catch a body coming through the rye." It is also reference in the storying when he sees the harsh words on the wall of the school and museum. Holden means by wanting to be the "catcher" is that he wants to help kids when they are having a difficult time. This related to Allie because he was having a hard time with the death of Allie and also they way Allie dies. It related to Phoebe because he figures out that he wants to be the "catcher" when phoebe was on the carousel trying to get the ring. It also related to Phoebe because he wants to help his little sister stay on track.
Catcher in the Rye to Dead Poets Society
Holden is different from Todd because he was shy and followed the rules. Todd's conflict is different from Holden's because Holden is not trying to break out of his shell. Holden is like Charlie because he is rebel and not really worried about anything thats going on like school. Charlie's conflict i s the same as Holden's because they both get kicked out of their school for not caring about it. Holden is like Knox because he is trying to get a girl and so is Holden. Holden and Neil are different because holden doesn't care what his father thinks and not really into school, but Neil is trying to make his father happy and working hard in school. Neil's conflict is different then Holden's because Neil is trying to be in the theater program. Holden thinks that the theater programs have phonies in it. Holden is mostly like Charlie and different from the rest.

Life lessons
The life lessons Mr. Keating is teaching his students that they should live their life to their fullest. Don't go by the rules of life and don't let people tell them what to do. He also teaches that to look at their life and other things in a different perspective. Mr.Keating teaches them this by making them stand on top and desk and look around. It also makes them say things while kicking a soccer ball. He teaches these lessons by making them tear pages out of their poetry book. This different from what Holden is told because they are saying to follow the rules and listen to what people tell you do. Holden is taught that he must compete to be good at the game of life. Mr.Keating is saying that if you don't want to play, you don't have to. Your life is up to you and don't let anyone control it. They teach these lesson to him by lecturing him. The principle teaches this lesson to him by kicking him out the school. This lesson are very different.

Life is A Game
I agree with Mr. Spencer's statement that life is a game. I agree because everybody is competing with one another over everything in their lifetime. If one person was trying to get better grade on a test then someone else. They are competing to beat each other. Some people can play that game but also some people don't even bother to try the game. People who don't play the game, are the ones who aren't doing anything with their life. I think that people have a choice to play the game or not. I agree with Mr. Spence because many people are playing the game weather they think so or not. If two people are competing for a stop for a job. That is a game they are playing; you either lose or win. Life is game and it can be played fair or not.

Seymour and the Bananafish
Seymour is similar to the Bananafish because they both die. Their life is very tragic. Seymour and the Bananafish are the same because they both have habits that are very particular. They both have this different type of style that no one or fish has. They are the same because they both a have disease after some tragic happened to them. Seymour and the Bananafish are similar because he went to Germany as the fish went into a hole. They both are stuck where they are. Seymour is stuck like how he is forever and the Bananafish can't get out of the hole. They are similar because the banana's that the fish eat are all of the things Seymour saw in the war. The banana's let the fish have a disease as the memory's of the war let Seymour have nightmares or a disease.
